FD interior

Hi all, I just purchased my first FD, It's a 93 silver touring. Love the car so far but the interior plastic pieces are in need of some TLC.

Can anyone point me to where I can get the OEM replacement parts. I called my local dealer and they said the parts are no longer available.

Welcome not sure what all you need but tomsn16 might have a few things.

I like the interior door cup that rotary 13b provides: 93-95 RX-7 FD3S INTERIOR DOOR PULL HANDLES: Rotary13B1.com

Sakebomb has a nice passenger door pull

Another great resource is Ray Crowe (oem parts dealer) his number is 703-785-5554 or email him at crowe.ray@aol.com

Good luck.

New - as mentioned above, contact Ray for any new OEM parts. Most dealers are clueless
Used - get your post count up so you can peruse the classifieds and post WTBs.
Aftermarket - there's not a lot of aftermarket interior pieces. In addition to the above, there are a couple people 3D printing parts, e.g. Draklore

Not certain what exactly your issues are. But since it's a 93 there's a good chance the problem is (just) a scratched finish...and not broken panels. Many of us have successfully resurfaced the panels to look like new with a much more durable surface.

Sg, the finish looks great! How is it holding up?

Did you use the trim black or bumper coating?

I used the black Plasti-dip. Lowes carries it...I'm sure others do too. As mentioned in that thread, I removed the old finish with IIRC 180 grit, then 320. I use dry enamel reducer to clean the surface of any silicone or oils. In a pinch brake parts cleaner will also work. Follow directions on the can for application. The stuff holds up great, you can play rugby on it by comparison to the stock finish. It's got kind of a nice tactile feel too.
Be careful removing the panels though, they have mounting tabs and clips that are a little fragile. Just go slow. A search in the interior section might show some more threads on what other guys have done and how to remove the various panels.

I've had pretty good luck with nengun. Takes a bit to ship since they source it from Japan.

I bought a '93 FD a few months back, and have been working on interior parts as well. Here are the parts I purchased:

Center Shifter panel:
https://www.atkinsrotary.com/store/?...&including=any

Ashtray:
https://www.atkinsrotary.com/store/?...&including=any

Passenger door grip handle:
https://www.realmazdaparts.com/oem-p...e-fd016944xe00
This is OEM Mazda, so very expensive. It was $335, but realmazdaparts had the best discount I could find, at 32% off list

Driver's side armrest flip-up compartment door:
https://www.rhdjapan.com/mazda-oem-r...rest-fd3s.html
This part WILL NOT work with a left hand drive. I made that mistake. However, I was able to use this part to fashion a repair to my original compartment door.

For the driver's side black panel, I removed it from the door panel and used the previously mentioned method of sanding off the original finish and using the PlastiKote paint from Lowe's. It turned out great.

I've had a lot of of luck with Atkins and Amayama. Amayama takes a bit like Nengun, since sourced from Japan, but great for some if you need any RHD parts.

Thanks...but it’s really not difficult. Anybody can do it. Just go easy taking the panels off. The only other thing I’d emphasize is to clean them really well after sanding. The likely hood of silicones being present is high and those will cause fisheyes in whatever you choose as a finish.

I found it easier to just update my interior using a reputable shop that specializes in interior work. You would be surprised what some shops can do to update your car.
