FD idles high

At a cold start, warmed up, long drive, it'll range between 1300-1500 rpm's with a few inconsistent "sputtering" feel from the engine.

I've read up on TPS, idle adjustment, and throttle cable sticking. Most threads i've searched seem to be bumping heads with the TPS and idle adjustment, since they are "factory set" and should not need to be tampered with.

This is a '95 stock FD. Any help appreciated.

3rdgen guru's, pull up your soapbox and let's get the definitive answer..

I can't help since I'm a 1stgen guy...a situation like you described always means a vacuum link with our carbureted cars.

Yeah, it seems "fine" or tolerable. My MX-6 idles TOO low, so I guess I'm kinda used to that kinda thing. On the MX, I've replaced the distributor cap, spark plugs and wires, and that seems to be ok, but on damp days it'll idle so low, it stalls...probably better to idle high than low.

I want to consider the EGR valve (RX have them?) if thats sticking.

Its hard to keep up with a car, while going to school, work, and a social life.

EDIT:

Hey, I just saw this thread
https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...48&postcount=9

regarding the PFC idle re-learn. I DID just a new battery installed, Optima Red Top. Will look into that further.
