fc rx7 idling high and smoking

yesterday i just replaced my oil cooler cuz the one i had went bad and now i turned my car on today and its idling at 2000 and its smoking around the cat i cant figure wat it could be....

Vacuum leak?

Stuck throttle cable?

Check the thermo switch at the bottom of the rad. Maybe you knocked the wires off.

My 86 FC smokes as well. It was idling high and I lowered it to a little less than 1000. I started to think that oil has something to do with the smoking, I just haven't figured it out yet. I even seafoamed my car, thinking that would help it out a little, and it did not.

how long was your car sitting before you replaced the oil cooler? Hows the oil level?
