FC Radio Problem

Hello,
Sooo my problem is basically that the previous owner butchered the radio install and im stuck with this(picture). I cant make out what is what and to be honest i dont want to try either as it just isnt up to my standards.
Is the Harness which routes to the radio a standalone piece which i can replace completely? i would like to get just that part, install it and solder a radio myself if its possible.

Thanks in advance

LUCKILY THE RADIO WRING ON THESE ARE NOT THAT COMPLICATED, AND FROM YOUR PICTURE IT LOOKS LIKE THE FACTORY HARNESS IS STILL THERE, YOU JUST NEED TO REMOVE THE HARNESS ADAPTOR THAT GOES TO THE AFTERMARKET RADIO, NO IF IT IS HARD WIRED IN THE MAIN HARNESS JUST CUT AND START OVER.

What are the wire colors for adding aftermarket radio

LTBlue/Red= 12v+
LtBlue/White= +Accessory
LtBlue/Yellow= -power ant trigger
Red/Black=+ Lumination
White=Factory Amp Turn on

Ground to the body, use the 10mm bolt behind the center console front drivers access panel. Do not use the Red/Black as ground it will damage the interior light circuit and dimmer in the car

Front Speakers (maximum of a 15 watt peak from the radio):
LtGreen/Red= Left
LtGreen/Black= Left

LtGreen= Right
LtGreen/Yellow=Right

Rear Speakers (if applicable, if you have the amplified rear speakers again the Maximum of 15 watts peak is all the stock speaker amp input can handle):
Brown= Left rear
Brown/White= Left Rear

LtBlue= Right Rear
LtBlue/Orange=Right Rear

Note: as mentioned above the power antenna's trigger is ground (or - ). With all aftermarket radio's antenna output as 12 volts positive (+). To make a stock power antenna work you need a relay wired like this:

Wow thats a lot of information. Ok so I will cut the cables and solder a new radio on. Thanks alot i appreciate it, gonna put that info to good use.
The relay you mentioned for the antenna, do i need to source it myself?

And sorry another question: what does Lt mean on the wire colours?

LT STANDS FOR ----LIGHT--- SO LT/BLUE IS LIGHT BLUE.
AS FOR THE RELAY YOU WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE THAT AND WIRE IT IN.

AS FOR THE INFORMATION THERE IS A LINK IN THE NEW MEMBER SECTIONS LABELED FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, READ IT. I WILL BE GIVING A POP QUIZ ON THE SUBJECT TOMORROW. HERE IS A LINK

Another thing to keep in mind is I think these schematics are for us cars, I am not sure how that translates in other regions if it is the same or not as far as wiring harness or wiring colors, maybe someone more experienced can comment on this.

No problem, I would just straight wire it in, thats what I had to do on one my 7's, because there is not alot of wires its easy.

Be aware that the Haynes manual for North American FCs is wrong about radio wiring, as it lacks information about the factory amps.

Reversibility is a godsend when it comes to preferential items like this. Scosche makes a harness kit to properly repair this previous-owner butchery, I believe the part number is MA02R. The connectors are originally from Yazaki.

From the pic, it looks as if the stock connectors were removed. Hard to tell from the angle of the photo. There are many different factory radios for fc. Not sure if they can swap into any fc though.
