So the starter doesn't spin? If that's the case, check battery voltage, clean off the battery terminals and try again. If nothing, you could have a bad starter, ignition switch, or the + connection from the battery to the main fuse is corroded.

If you actually mean it spins, but doesn't start. It could be flooded. Pull the EGI INJ. fuse from under the hood, crank for a few seconds, replace it and start the car.

Hey ive got a 1987 rx7 non turbo and ive been having the flooding problem. I deflooded it by takin out the 40a fuel pump fuse and trying to start it with the clutch and gas all down and it blew the smoke out. The car started after puting the fuse back in and i drive it home. after it sits for a while and i try cranking it again it doestnt start so what do i do?

You could have 1 or more injectors leaking. Send them out to a place like Witchhunter Performance (http://www.witchhunter.com/) to be cleaned/refurbished for $18/ea. Or you can try to find a local shop that can clean injectors.

If the tach doesn't work, check your interior fuses and the plug at the ECU.

ok the tachometer works now it only disables it when i put the fuel pump fuse in while trying to crank it, which did start the car tho so whatever.today after my car was running and i took it to work i tried one of the solutions i found on the forums, i took the fuse out while the car was running so it runs out of fuel and dies out. and the end of the night i put the fuse back in started my car and went home. tonight tho im trying a different method that the guy that sold me the car said to do. He said just let the car idle for a min before u turn it off and it shouldn't flood, and he said he's never had a problem with it.

if you dont let the car warm up it will get flooded, like moving it two blocks and turning it off. If either of you guys continue to have this problem mazda trix sells a kit that might help, i'm not sure if it does or not but its worth looking into. On my car i did the trick with putting a cap full of oil in the leading spark plug hole and after white smoke and a shotgun sound it came back to life and has been riding good for a while now, make sure your spark plugs are good as well

well right now im changing my spark plugs, got new leadings in and just got trailings in the mail so im putting those in tomorrow. but today we figured out that the spark plug coils for the trailings (i think dont remember) were pluged in backwards. we changed em around and the car started and so far no problems. My step dad said that was probably making it fire wrong and flooding the car and not makin and start and all that crap, i dont even get why it worked with the coils backwards. But as of right now runnin good and tomorrow puttin the new trailings in with the new leads already in and i'll be good to go. im waitin on a new fuel filter as well just to help clean it up.
