Question FC Cold Start..

So I'm looking to buy my first 7! but the one I'm looking at has a little problem on cold start. He says on a cold start, the car will rev to 3000 then eventually die after a few seconds. The way he solves it, is to keep your foot on the gas around 3000 rpms until the car warms up, and after it warms up, it starts and idles fine. But I'm wondering if there's a solution to fix this and have a normal warm up and idle, as many people said it revs to 3000 then 1500 then a constant 750 after a minute or so.

Thanks in advance. Any suggestions is much appreciated!

Could be anything. Might just need a simple tuneup. Vacuum leaks, maladjusted TPS, ECT reading incorrectly.

It is likely not an expensive problem to fix but could take some time to track down.

How likely would a full 60k tune up fix this problem? When I get my 7, I was planning on doing a full tune up on it anyways. The first thing I was to do is make it reliable. It's an N/A GXL by the way.

a 60k tuneup is less likely to fix the problem. I'd bet more on vacuum leaks or TPS problems...
