f3ds turbo oiling

1. Does the stock turbo oiling system retain pressure to the bearings, or is this a metered orifice system.

2. Is there any way to test the oil seals for leakage (used turbos no rebuild ) such as blocking off return, and applying oil pressure leak down at xx pressure. Or bad idea?

3. Turbos have some radial play, and near no axle play-good-bad or rebuild.

4. Can anyone recommend a turbo rebuilder in Southern. CA that is reasonable +- XXX.xx$$.

Mike in Barstow three "94s" one daily driver the other in for total rebuild, and another for parts.

I believe the journal bearings see full pressure. Have never heard of testing.....but haven't looked into it. Stock rebuilds are a crap- shoot. Personally I would only consider BNR's or replacing with new. Search for info on those in the 3rd gen. section.
