exhaust pattern difference between 12a and 13b?

i know the bolt pattern is essentially the same, but aren't the exhaust ports closer together on the 12a than the 13b? can someone clarify?

The 12a housings are 10mm narrower than the 13b housings. That means the exhaust ports are closer and the exhaust bolts are 5mm closer to center on each side.
