Engine cuts out when turning
I have a 1988 FC convertible NA, the engine will cut out (sometimes even stall) when turning sharply or accelerating around corners…have you guys have this issue or do you think you might know what’s causing this?
Sounds like the fuel pump is starving for fuel wheb you turn. My first thought would be to pull the pump assembly and inspect it and check the tank for and debris or a malfunction with the pocket where the pump assembly sits.
Hopefully it’s not electrical.
could be a loose contact, but not enough details from the initial post to verify.
id assume a fuel delivery issue from the fuel pump would be a more gradual stall than an almost instant cut if it was electrical.
Had an issue with my fc where the front harness would short when going up hills. Ended up replacing the harness with a used lower mileage one. I did find the section of harness which was fatigued by heat and caused the short.
