Emissions Nest?

Hello, what is the reason why RX-7 owners remove the emissions nest underneath the intake manifold? What are the pros to doing that? Any gain in power and performance?

It also tends to simplify troubleshooting and locating vacuum leaks.

The emissions solenoids came on all years, but it looks different per each car.
Your profile says you have a 1990. (Most people don't check that, so when asking a question, remember you need to give us some info about your car... Mainly Year and model... Turbo or not... and possible previous modifications.)

I assume you mean a 1990 N/A. In which case, stick with the above. It's removing a set of bolts and vacuum lines.

HOWEVER, because you have a 1990 (Series 5) some of those solenoids may be used for the VDI (Variable Dynamic Intake) and 6 port system.

T2 does have emissions equipment, yes... Again, I believe there's some useful parts in there regarding wastegate control and the twin-scroll deal... I'm not terribly proficient on the turbo engines, so I'll let others chime in on that.

TII owners do the same "emissions removal", but on S4s you should retain the twin-scroll solenoid & actuator. S5 turbochargers do not use this. S5 engines however use a turbo duty solenoid, which is basically an electronic boost controller.
