droping my diff/ whole rear suspenion

Im geting ready to drop my diff and the fsm says I have to unbolt the left side of the cross member/sub frame and let it hang. is that realy the only way to get to the front mount of the diff to unbolt the diff? or would it just be easier to drop the whole rear suspenion diff and all? coz thats kind of what Im doing any way.

I've done it both ways. It only takes a few more steps to just drop the whole rear subframe and doing so radically improves the amount of space you have to work with, so that's the method I'd recommend.
