Door Speakers Only Act As Woofers?

Door Speakers Only Act As Woofers?
Are the side door speakers in the S4 convertible suppose to only act as woofers? I replaced them with some Infinity speakers capable of full range. If they are suppose to act only as woofers, is it the wiring or the head unit that limits them? Anyway to go about setting them up for full range?

You can set them as a full range speaker system by using the aftermarket head unit to drive them as such.
You can also use them as a Woofer system if you you use a multiple speaker aftermarket audio system where you have a woofer,midrange.tweeter sepaerate from themselves (like a 2 way or 3 way speaker system).
My Coupe is setup for woofers in the doors and tweeters in the lower dash.
