Did I need to index my pressure plate?

I'm replacing the clutch on my 85 GS. Using a Daikin kit from RB. Comes with a new pressure plate. After I removed the old pressure plate, I crawled out from under the car and looked at the manual and it said I should have indexed the location of the plate on the flywheel.
Am I screwed? Or does this not apply when replacing the pressure plate with a new one?

Don't worry about it. What shape is the flywheel in? You probably should get it machined.
