Alright, I definitely know how to drive a stick shift car, and I've also had my dad drive my car just in case I was being a regard. When you start to accelerate in my stock '80 rx-7, it shakes until you have the clutch completely out. If I let it out without any gas, it also doesn't shake. Does this sound like anything to you guys? Engine mounts? Tranny mounts?

are you applying gas while letting the clutch out?

and ya,I would check motor mounts as the car is 30 odd years old and stuff does wear out.

Yea, and the more gas the harder it shakes...but then nothing when I'm changing gears while going down the road

This would be my guess. It is common to have them separate.

would have a quick look at the tailshaft too for damage or missing balance weights, just a quick thought

Awesome! Thanks a bunch for the help guys, I'm gonna look at the tranny mounts after work tomorrow, I tightened the motor mounts (they didn't move much) and didnt notice any difference. What do you mean tail shaft? The tailshaft of the tranny?

yeah the tailshaft between the gearbox and the diff, if is balanced and has weights on it, maybe they have fallen off or been damaged if this has just started happening
