FL cuttin' the cats

any tips on cuttin my cats out? i'm going to end up doing it either today or friday. but i just wanted to know more about it. i'm hoping it will sound a lot meaner with it gone.

Your profiles says you have an '88 vert, so...

You can gut your precats & main cat to free up the system, but be warned that your auxilliary ports will probably stop opening. The backpressue in the split air pipe activates them at 3800 RPM, so make sure you test them afterwards.

To get the most out of the motor, buy a header / presilencer combo that has a pickup tube for the split air pipe. The car will be VERY loud with a straight pipe, so silencers and resonators are great for sound dampening.
