Question Cut wire under steering column?! this doesn't look good...

I noticed several days ago that there is a wire hanging from the steering column in my NA 1987. It appeared black, but upon further inspection this morning i noticed that it is actually navy blue. originally, it had just appeared to be 2 wires (one white, one black) wrapped within another coating, but after cutting it open i saw it is actually a white, a black, a green, a yellow, and a red wire, all woven together in copper and subsequently insulated with that navy blue rubber.

Any idea what this wire array is for? i cant find the other end of it.

Too long; didnt read: 6 wires in one cut under my steering column. how screwed am i?

Some factory audio systems had door-mounted woofers driven by a separate amp mounted under the driver's side of the dash. The amp connected to the main audio system through a 6-wire shielded cable. The cable was hard-wired to the amp and had a 6-pin DIN connector at the main audio unit. My guess is a previous owner removed the amp and just cut the wire. The other end with the DIN connector is probably still there behind whatever head unit is in the car now.

Thank you! i did some more investigating today and found out that's what this turned out to be. The head unit itself was stolen, so this was one of several wires that no longer served any purpose. Pulled out the whole thing. Thank you very much!
