Coolant leak

I have a coolant leak into my engine... I meaning Brian Cook which i am him lol
I do know that i need a rebuild. I love my RX-7 it was my first car.... and yes ive gotten flamed many for it being my first car. I know very little about my engine. the rebuild kits i was looking at were EXPENSIVE to me. at this point im stumped dont know what to do and selling it would hurt to much. if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate.

Please help... i just want it fixed ...

I came in knowing nothing of the RX7 i want to come out knowing more than the car itself.

I sounds like you might not have enough experience for buying a kit and rebuilding it yourself. I have fully rebuilt 2 piston engines, and torn down and done repairs on several others and I would be a little intimated by having to rebuild a rotary. If you are able to remove the engine yourself you could ship it to someone to rebuild like Pettit, Mazdatrix, etc.

The above said if you are inclined to rebuild it yourself (we all have to start learning somewhere) I would buy a video on rotary rebuilds and watch it first and then make the decision as to whether this is the project you want to start with. You'll have to spend some money on tools also, something to pull engine with, some micrometers, etc.

Also, if it is just a coolant seal in some of my searches I have seen people post about adding something to the cooling sys to try to stop the leak. I saw someone once say they used that "...block seal in a can deal." Whatever that means, but the point is if you are looking at having to rebuild anyway, there may be some things you could try using first to see if they stop the leak. I am doubtful, but I would try before paying for a rebuild.

And you can thank me later.

I've got 17,000 miles on my motor since I did this, and have had no issues at all. I recently went to a gathering in North Carolina and put 2,400 miles on her over five days.

Good luck, and please post your results if you do this....
