coolant alarm

3rd gen fd.......my low coolant level light and alarm its going off all the time the car is running.....but the coolant levels are all good....thinking its the level switch for the coolant.....where is the level switch located???

Just for future posts you dont have to say 3rd gen and FD, either one will let most people know what you are talking about.

on the discharge of the water pump there is a single wire (black) going to a sensor right before the radiator hose. This is the level pickup.

It isnt a float level or anything like that, it works off resistance to ground. If you want to check the system, you can apply ground to this wire and within 30secs it should stop if the sensor is bad.
