clutch adjustment

i have a 1984 sle se new master and slave, question about free play..is it really a tenth of an inch..i can barely feel it..please advise

Well, only you can measure it. Freeplay is just that little bit of movement before the clutch starts to engage the piston on the master cylinder. You should only really adjust the clutch travel if it's releasing on the floor or something similar.

However, a lack of free play could mean that the clutch is not fully releasing, which could lead to premature wear.

You can adjust the free play. Crawl up under the dash, and look at the push rod that comes off the pedal. That is where the adjustment is made.
