Clicking sound when depressing and releasing the clutch pedal

About a week ago i noticed that my clutch pedal would "click" whenever i pressed the pedal down. It clicks above the biting point and it seems to be a problem with a plastic sleeve clicking out of place. How would I go and fix this?

Have you been able to look at your pedals, maybe something could be in the clearance. Check that out first.

Maybe take a picture of the pedals too for our viewing purposes

Here are some pictures:

Started playing around with the clutch pedal and saw that there was this white piece catching into a hole in the pedal when the pedal is pressed...

And when i let go of the pedal, the white piece catches on the edge of the hole until the pedal is completely let go of, pushing the white piece back into the hole.

I couldn't find this part in the repair manual. What does it do? Should I just cut the piece off?

Isn't there suppose to be a rubber stopper that the switch hits?

Not sure where you looked because I found it on page H-6 here. The brake peddle also has a similar pad. Searching goes a long way and I don't even own a second gen.

The part can be found here ($3.51):

This thread has your issue described.

easy solution I am going to suggest is to grab a penny and JB weld it to the area.
That switch is supposed to depress and hit a stopper. That stopper on your car is gone.

This what the stopper is supposed to look like (I bypassed my safety switch and removed it).
