Clicking sound

My husband has replaced the battery and now the starter on my RX after it died the other day. However, all we get is a clicking noise. Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Thanks!

What year/model RX do you have?
Do you have a voltmeter in the car? How many volts does it read before and while starting?
Where did you get the starter?

Problem solved

The problem turned out to be some corrosion on the cables leading to the positive on the battery that he hadn't discovered yet. She runs like a champ now! Thanks for all your suggestions!
