choice time...

okay so long story short picked up a S4 Fc yesterday with an S5 motor/box & as I have little understanding of rotors thought i'd ask this question.
oh im from Australia btw :P haha

the rotor is stock, only thing it has is a wolf 3d v4.
question being, how much do you guys think i'd be looking at to get a reliable 400-500rwhp out of a 13bt?
been doing a fair bit of reading the last couple of hours but by no means an expert.

now the decision I have is this, I spend the coin & try get 500hp out of a rotor OR I have a built rb30 (3ltr single cam) sitting here that makes 450rwkw (600hp) that I can just chuck in
the no-brainer idea would be to put the rb30 in and save myself some time/money, but I want to weigh up both sides before I make a decision.

any advice appreciated,

Cheers,
Andrew

Building your 13b would definitely cost you a lot of money, so the logical answer would be the rb30. That being said, its an rx7, majority of the people here (including me) would rather see a monstrous 13b than a rb in an rx7. Which would be a lot of fun. (Provided you have the funds).

yeah I prefer the sound of a rotor over an rb, might put some feelers out & see what people will offer me for the rb
I did toy with the idea of putting an ls3 in it, but then decided against it :P haha

but I would prefer a 20b over a 13b, in saying that...
what would be the chance's of getting a 20b, decent turbo with all the supporting mods & cranking out 400-500rwhp & it being reliable to a certain point without being built? like putting it on e85, keeping it properly maintained I imagine would help...

Sorry..beep,beep,beep....Observation time!!

All dedicated Rotor heads will tell you stick with the Rotary, spend your Freakin life savings and have a car that "may" get you somewhere..!
Piston guys will say "slap a LS1 in it" and that will give you reliable power..only 6k..yada,yada..

Listen to your wallet, and your capabilities to do the car the way you want.
Everything else will be "gibberish from the peanut gallery"!!

I honestly love the way that people will flock to give answers on this subject as it is not their money that they are toying with..they are tossing out their version of a car that they themselves can't afford..
In reality, go to their house and their car will be on stands, broke busted and the owner not able to afford a down payment on a hot dog!
(and Funny..they will make a post asking the same thing!..and they can't afford fixing the car from the beginning!)

...This concludes the Test of the Emergency Broadcast System!!!...
