Car dies if gas isint held. HELP?

So I was out one weekend driving around and an evo came up on me, so we did some pulls and on the last one when I shifted from 4th to 5th my car seemed to not move it was weird. Then I noticed my car shacking and my rpms were at 0, so I rev'd and the car came up. I got it home having to hold the gas the whole time so the car wouldn't die. My buddy thought it could be a vacuum hose might have got blown off, so I took the IC off and looked at all of the hoses I could see and they all seem to be okay. I can start the car but it sounds like its sick. And like I said dies if I let off the gas. I am waiting for a jack to get under the car to look at the turbo and make sure everything around that looks to be in working order. The only other thing I can think to do is do a compression test and make sure I didn't blow a seal. And thing you guys can think of will be a life safer. My car is an 89 Rx-7 TII, stock turbo, racing beat exhaust. Thank you.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. A visual inspection doesn't hold any validity. You need to pressure test or smoke test.

And check for error codes. Car might be limp mode among other things.

I would be checking again for vacuum leak IF it ran great until the very moment you rolled hard on the throttle. At that point you could have easily created a vacuum issue.

Sounds like you blew it up to me. I think you forgot to mention the hard misfire at full boost.

I think it is a vacuum leak my buddy had a leak on his car as well, found the hose put it back to where it goes and it was all good the next start.

Thanks for all the advice, I checked every single vacuum line I could think of and found nothing. I took my turbo off and found the bearings are done. I spin the blades and they don't spin freely. So I am getting the turbo upgrade from rotor sports racing.

Check your compression before you spend any other money. Compression checkers are 20 bucks at O'Reilly. Don't say I didn't tell you so.

POP Goes the weasel...sounds like you ate an apex seal

do a compression test the rotary way (3 bumps on the needle per rotation per a rotor) do a search, lots of info on compression testing rotaries with a standard compression tester

It is not the most accurate results but will show a dead rotor

watch the vid-
