Brake Rotor and Front Lower Coilover Bolt problems
Hey guys,
This fc is the first car I've ever worked on so I have been having some trouble. Recently I've been trying to raise my ride height because my tires were rubbing. The instructions said to detach the coilovers from the bottom mount so I did that and raised the height of 3 wheels. I then go to do my front drivers side wheel and I managed to remove the nut but the bolt seems to be jammed. I thought it could be a problem with the sway bar or something adding force so I jacked up the passenger side lower control arm but the bolt still would not budge. It seems like inside the bushing there is another piece of metal surrounding the bolt. I am not sure how accurate that is but I could kind of make it out. I then tried to remove the lower bolt but like the newbie I am, I stripped both sides. The brake rotor was blocking my ability to take a Sawzall to both bolts so I thought it would be a good time to replace them anyways and went to take the brake rotor off. The owner before me swapped the fronts with 5 lug so I removed the two front screws and went to pull of the brake rotor but It just will not even budge. I was hoping if someone could confirm that I am not missing some screw or a step and any advice on solving my issues is appreciated. I have already doused everything in pb blaster multiple times and I took a blow torch to the brake rotor's hub area but still not even a tiny bit of movement. I am in the northeast so my fc has all the rust in the world. Sorry for the long post but I my car has been on jack stands for almost two weeks and I am running out of ideas.
Thanks

Tap the rotor with a rubber dead blow mallet.
Most coilovers allow for height adjustment without removing the lower mounting bolts. Just loosen the lower coilover ring, then turn the coilover rings under the spring to adjust height. I don’t see what coilovers you have to make sure that is the case, but it does looks like you have the lower coilover ring (green) securing the dampener to the lower mount.
