CO Brake fluid instead of ATF for cleaning carbon deposits??

I'm planning on doing the atf treatment on my car, but I am wondering if you can use brake fluid since it seems to have similar properties in cleaning the crap out of stuff and I think it wont dissolve my rubber seals in the engine since calipers use use similar kind of rubber i guess
Any thoughts?

I don't think that would be a good idea at all. Just because two things look similar does not mean they have similar properties. DOT 3 and 4 brake fluids are mixtures of glycol ethers, not oils:

DOT 3 & 4 MSDS: http://www.championbrands.com/MSDS/1420.pdf

Brake fluid is compatible with some types of rubber, but it will destroy others. Are you willing to take that chance over spending $5-10 on some ATF?

Just use water, especially if you have a cat.

have you ever seen what brake fluid does though?
It will eat the paint right off the car.If it does that to the outside of the car, then I would not put it inside.!
Try Seafoam or Water.
..I Welcome you to the Forum...take your time and peruse the "specifics" Sections as they have vital info that you may want to read over.Lots of good info..
Cheers.

Do you seafoam a rotary just like any other car?
and could you explain the water thing a bit I never heard of it
I'm kinda new to the rotary
And I think I will hold off the atf since I'm scared it could cause more damage than good I've read scary stories.
Have you ever done it?

I got the advice of Seafoam off a regular on forum,.Named: Kentetsu.
..good advice too.!
I seafoamed my N/A and it is Fine,I actually ran it for about 3 years then sold the engine and as far as I know it is Still going!
That engine I let the Seafoam get sucked up by a Vacuum line.
My other engines I just added some with the Gas and let it eat it that way.

thanks for all the advice, I think I will try with water first, to see how it goes
and seafoam, but a have one final doubt, regarding the water treatment
If you use too much to fast could it cause thermal shock?
Should the engine be at operation temp?

To a certain extent, your counting on some thermal shock to break the carbon loose.
I don't think it makes much difference if you let the car come to full operating temp or not. It won't take much time for the surfaces of the combustion chamber to get hot, regardless of what a temp gauge says. But I would let it warm up first.

You guys are making it too complicated. Dump a can of seafoam into the gas tank and drive it. You'll feel the difference very quickly.

I did the water treatment on my car right after I bought it, and it split the cat wide open. That was my excuse for getting the RB exhaust. Wife couldn't stand the noise, so she agreed.

I think ATF is just a hassle. Big smoke, fouls the spark plugs, some people say it eats the seals, I just don't like it. I've done it before, but now I just seafoam it.
