Bought first gen RX7 need tips and help.
Bought a 1979 RX-7 a few days ago, I've been trying to get it in better running shape. So far I have done...
-Oil change, 10w-40 Castrol GTX with a Wix Oil filter
-Purolater Pureone air filter
-Wix Fuel filter
-New battery
-Putting a new alternator in soon
-Seafoam'd it through the carb
144k on the body and possibly the trans too, I was told only about 40K on the engine as it was swapped... not sure if thats true.
I need help with a few things, first off, the "Add coolant, GEN, add oil" lights are all on, and with the car running it shows me the voltage of the battery instead of my rev's... Im assuming that will correct itself when I install a new alternator? My old one tested out at like 11.8 amps at 3,000 rpm at a local auto parts shop so im assuming its pretty bad. The oil and coolant levels are all normal though.
Another problem is in 3rd-5th gears theres a whining sound from the back of the car, i think its the differential... What could be the cause of that? It only makes noise when I give it gas..
Other than those problems does anyone have some suggestions to help it run better/longer?

as far as the dummy lights i dont know. But that whining noise from the rear end...is your rear end and its saying that it's gonna go out on you. My brothers FB (First gen) was doing that...its the differential. You might want to get a replacement.
