VA Best Diff for my FC road race car

I'm building an E-Production LS1/T56 race car and I have stock diffs from a 88 vert (the race car) and a 87 base. I know T2 diffs are stronger and larger and think that's what I need. I looked on for sale section and see S4 or S5 a lot, is S4 86-88 and S5 89-91? I think I need the 86-88 T2 diff because it's a clutch type?

I see I can't post in for sale thread that I want to buy a T2 Diff. Pretty sure I need so many post's before I can do this?

Thanks
Chris

Yeah, it's your post count that is keeping you from the classified threads. I think you have to have a minimum of 10 posts if I remember correctly. There are quite a few threads in this sub forum (New Member Section) just for getting your post count up. Like introducing yourself, survey, etc.

I am sorry I cannot speak to the diff issue. I would say you could alway look into a Carbonetic (I think they are now ATS or something like that?) carbon diff. Very strong and good diffs. I have been running one in my FD for 5 or 6 years with no issues with it.

welcome to the board.

from what i've read as far as Rx-7 circles go, the S4 T2 is the desired unit. so you're informed on that. however, i have also read that there is a certain amount of interchangeability all the up to, and including the Rx-8. so keep that in mind.

also, there is a Race Car section on the board. you should check it out when you get the chance and see what other options you have out. i mean with so much of your drivetrain already custom-built, i would think there's no need to limit yourself when it comes to the rear end.
