Beeping (seat belt warn?)

Hey guys, i need help understanding this one.
I drove the car to get some service work done and it is beeping at me. occasional beeps stops then restarts every 8 seconds or so. is this a seat belt warning? Mine was on and tight, I didn't try bucking the pass. side. I checked and all doors, hatch and fuel door closed, hood too. I never heard this before. The door warning and belt light work at start up, (different sound). Why is the car beeping? I got no warn light with this and they all work at start up.

welcome to the board.

you are probably hearing the chime letting you know the coolant level is low. it may or may not actually be low (because the sensor might be bad/broken). either way, give it a look. it's a single-wire connection at the top of the radiator.

No that is not the case. It is not low coolant level, It is at the full line and will spill if radiator uncapped, I checked and this car uses no coolant (no leaks). Also checked the oil and it uses none either, its 2mm above full and very clean. The oil pressure reads just above 60 on the gauge and all sensor wires check out OK, just one wire connects the coolant level sensor at the radiator top to the harness. This has to be a seat belt warning,.. right? Related to carpet install? Need to find the wires to the seat belt buckle and jumper them? Does anyone have a clue about what makes it beep?

so you checked that the sensor worked? cause it sounds like you want the problem to be the seatbelt chime regardless of any advice given.

Your post isn't super clear. Are you thinking its the seatbelt alarm because the seatbelt light is coming on as well? If thats the case it could be your cpu2. Do you have a 3rd gen. That wasnt super clear either.

Probably the power steering computer telling you there is a problem with the system. The number of beeps before pausing will indicate the problem.
1-beep, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of speed sensor signal:
In case broken wires or short circuits occur to sensors or harnesses, the buzzer sounds 60-seconds after the engine speed signal of 2200 rpm continues for 18-seconds.
2-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of engine speed signal:
The buzzer sounds twice and repeats when the vehicle speed signal is missing input and/or no engine speed signal is found (short circuit, broken wire, etc.)
3-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of stepping motor signal:
The buzzer sounds when there are broken wires or short circuits in coils or harnesses.
4-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of the power steering microcomputer:
The buzzer sounds 4 and repeats when there are circuit troubles other than with the micro computer.
5-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of steering sensor signal: Steering sensor is mis-aligned or failed or steering wheel has been improperly installed."

Very helpful potentially, I get two beeps, with variable pauses as short as 6-8 seconds under varyng driving conditions and sometimes it stops for a while, 10 minutes or so. The engine runs as well as could be expected and IMHO has a near perfect idle and driveability as OEM described. Two beeps comes from what root cause ?
