Problem with seat belt light and noise

Hello

The last two times i drove my car the seat belt light came on and wouldnt go off and was making a beeping noise, even after i put my seat belt on. After about 2 mins of driving this stopped, i assumed it was a flat battery because i actually rarely drive the car.

Any ideas? Is it a flat battery? The car started fine.

will

pretty sure you're going to have to ask locally...we don't have seat belt sensors on our 93-95 rx-7's. ;]

yes we do. My light always blinks even if the seat belt is buckled... not sure why, or how to fix it at this time. though probably a grounding issue within the sensor, try just grounding the wire there.

huh? i have had two north-american Rx-7's (a U.S. '93 and a canadian '94) - neither of them had seat belt sensors, or if they did - they never did anything. i've never seen a seat belt light or buzzer go off when i wasn't buckled up

There is a harness connection under both seats. Make sure there not disconnected. This is probably causing the light to come on.
Good luck

it wasnt doing it until recently, therefore if the plug was unplugged i would have always been doing it.

Can't you just unplug it and solve the problem that way as well?

nah i think unplugging it might make it continue

In my case im thinking its my battery at the end of its life. It only happens as soon as i start the car for the first time. After the initial start it wont come on. Therefore i think it doesnt sound like a ground issue.

I dont drive my car much, i didnt drive my car for 3 weeks when it started doing this.

Unplugging sensor connection under the seat makes CPU #2 think the seat belt is unfastened (the reverse of what you might think). CPU #2 has been known to behave semi randomly with a low battery.

Thanks for adding this, i think that its low battery. Before i make this thread i found another thread with a similar problem and they concluded that it was due to battery on the way out.
