Im thinking of buying this system to my Rx7 TII - 89.
I have a Racingbeat catback, other than that my TII is stock.

Can i install this system without any risk to the motor? I have read that a fuel-cut defenser is a must, but i don´t want that. I just want to have more exhaust sound

Or should i just go for the "Bönez Catalytic Converters", will i be "safe" then regarding the Engine?

As long as you keep a quality catalytic converter in the exhaust, boost pressure should not be affected. I run a 3" Bonez cat on an un-ported S5 wastegate and it has no issues keeping the boost at stock levels.

I'm not sure if the sound will change much. If it were me, it wouldn't be worth it to buy one and ship internationally.

I don't think many people have experience with that system. When most people upgrade the exhaust, they delete the catalytic converter because it has better performance and it is much cheaper. But that requires other modifications to the wastegate and/or fuel system modifications.

But in a near future i must replace the old(original) catalytic.
So which one should i choose? I imagine that mazda original will be expensive?
The bönez catalytic converter is the only aftermarket cat i know of.

well, i figured fabrication wouldn't be an issue. if it is, then you're probably painting yourself into a corner.

 

I'm not sure how strict Swedish laws are about replacement catalytic converters. So you may want to check that. It may depend if it is a LHD or RHD model as that changes what emissions equipment it was equipped with.

Here in California, we have to buy an approved pre-fabricated catalytic converter to pass the visual inspection. It is probably the stupidest idea ever. There is very little difference in actual performance.

I've had no problems with my Bonez cat. It hasn't broken down and it still passes the smog test.
A Magnaflow cat will pass the emissions test, but it usually breaks down in a couple years. You could also buy a new one and only use it for inspections. That way, it would last the life of the car.
