well the easiest way iver heard is to smear grease on the actuatorshaft and drive around a little going over 4k rpm(3800) and see if it smeared upwards and if not ports arent opening (if your running stock exhuast and still have your cat then u should be fine. what year car? if its 88-91 they runn off the airpump so make shure your airpump is working
