Why do you want the thermowax pellet re-installed? If it fails, it will fail in the closed position which means the oil squirters on the eshaft won't be supplied and your engine will run hot. It was just a mechanism to warm the engine up a bit quicker for emissions, and has no effect on cold start idle. So if you're "sitting on the gas" to keep it running, that won't help.
Replacing it with a proper plug, as I assume the builder did, will actually increase oil pressure a bit. Regardless, here's a thread discussing pro's and con's...obviously I support this mod but you can decide for yourself.

ok maybe i just leave it then, my understanding was that the thermowax was used in the cold start , hence why i wanted to re install it. i dont like the idea of having to physically sit on the gas to keep the revs up till it warms up. so are you saying that if i reinstall the thermowax it will not achieve anything?
It has no effect cold start idle.
Rotors heat up from being exposed to the combustion event. Same as a piston heats up from that same exposure. Piston engines allow for cooling the piston from underneath by splashing or spraying oil underneath. Likewise, the inside of the rotors were cooled from oil being sprayed from oil jets on the e-shaft. The thermowax pellet was simply a valve. When cold it was in the closed position and restricted the oil supply to those jets so they didn't spray and the rotors heated up faster than they would otherwise. Heating up the engine quicker helped MAZDA satisfy emissions requirements. Even though failure of the thermopellet is VERY rare, since most of us don't drive these cars in the dead of winter anymore there's really no reason to keep it IMO.
I probably wouldn't recommend someone remove it unless it was during a rebuild when the engine was out and apart for other reasons. Likewise, since your's has already been remove, seems silly to go to the trouble to replace it. But again, read through those links and make up your own mind.

OP is referring to the thermowax rod on the throttlebody, which holds open the primary plate until engine is warmed up.
Different device than the e-shaft oil thermostat "thermal pellet".

cheers andre, yea i meant the thermowax that bolts to the throttle body. sorry for the confusion. regardless, does anyone know or give me a few pointers on how to re install this. i am doing a rebuild on my engine atm (attempting it myself with my mechanic), so evetually would like to hook this thermowax back up. any help much appreciated.

hey andre sorry for the late reply, no it is not still physically bolted to the TB, but i have the thermowax and also the 2 bolts to bolt it back on. i guess what im asking, is what coolant lines will i have to hook back up etc to run it again.
There are two coolant lines to hook up,one from the BAC and the other from on top off your Rear Plate, the one on the rear plate hooks up on the thermowax itself and the one from the BAC hooks up to the top of the throttle body.
cheers rotarr, would anything have been blocked off that i need to unblock? as the engine was orinally running without out one. or is it as simple as just hooking the vacuum hoses back up. any pics would be greatly appreciated just so i do hook them up to the right places. cheers
