FL Alternator Upgrade/stereo equipment

i know many post have been post have been put up there but it seems like the info is kinda confusing or doesnt match other post .

which alternator can be added to get the best fit and match and be over 100 amps with the least amount of retrofitting needed and that the alternator works as is should.

the reason i want to upgrade for is for the addition of an 1000 watt amp i already have a 400 watt amp powering all my jl mids and highs, and do you guys recommend the big three upgrade which id like to do.

The FD alternator will bolt right in with a pulley change and a slight wiring change. It is rated 90A but most test to over 100A.

If you want a legitimate 100A+ alternator, then I can't speak to which one requires the least amount of retrofitting. What I can say is that if I was doing this, I would buy a standard 1 wire GM or Ford style aftermarket alternator then just make brackets.

I'm not going to comment that I would never need to do this because 1.4KW of audio is a car is crazy...I value my hearing.

You can also have some shops re-wind your existing alternator for higher output.

thanks guys, yes aaron your right that is alot of watts but i make music and it is a must i hear all my music with lows and highs tuned properly plus the short rides to work or being out and about are not enough to make me go deaf. I think its at 96 db or so for a period of 3.0 hours before you start to have hearing loss.

Now check out 20,000 watt tahoe in youtube now thats crazy lol . at the moment i have the two front components jl audio and coax in the rear towers being pushed by a jl 400 watt amp , 1000 watts will be for my two 12" subs i plan on getting also all jl. i installed my system a month ago and was hoping id get even a little bit of lows out my speakers, but mids and high is all i got so i need the bass . thanks again
