Aftermarket Intake for stock dual and single turbo RX-7 FD?

Hi everyone, made a quick search but couldn't find anything specific.

Currently I have a stock 94 RX-7FD and planning to upgrade to single turbo in the not so near future. To avoid buying two aftermarket intakes, can anyone advice an aftermarket intake brand that can be used for both stock and single turbo configurations?

Thanks!

dont hold me to this, but as i figure it as long as you have the turbo mounted in the same place and the inlets are the same size, you should be ok. other than that you got me. i think your best option would be to get in contact with one of the companies that you are thinking about buying from and ask.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, as long as the inlet is the same size then switching from dual to single would be no problem. Trouble is most brands either sell for the stock duals or sell a complete set along with the single turbo. I wonder what the stock size is?

fd inlets are 2.5". so you have a lot of options in that department. 2.5" is a pretty popular charger size and almost every company makes one. however you can go to borg warner and get a airwerks charger on a s400 trim. its a sequential twin charger just like the factory and you can specify what you need. they will hook you up right.

Wow thanks a lot! This will really help me out! Hopefully I will get the car up and running next month so that I can shot her off in the forums~

After looking through some websites I think Greddy can supply one for both situations.

most single turbos are going to be 3 or 4 inches, not compatible with a stock turbo filter. your only option would be some pipe adapters and a larger than required pod filter for at least one of the twins.

3" is about the smallest you're going to find on a suitable single replacement.
