Lightbulb Advice wanted on an OMP for 13B boat engine

Hello,
I will probably order an OMP for my 13B boat engine to allow it to use two stroke oil in stead of crankcase oil for rotor lubrication. I don't want to mix oil with the fuel because I like to fill up at the marina and it is hard to mix oil in a 30 gallon permanently installed tank. It is also something my wife and daughters would really not want to have to do.

is anyone using one of the aftermarket OMPs that use a remote reservoir and two stroke oil. If so I would love to hear about your experiences. I am probably going to order this one within the next week.

Thanks for the help!

A few people use them and I have not heard of any specific complaints.

Just make sure that you keep the reservoir above the level of the pump, and that the reservoir is made of a material that stands up to oil.

A friend runs one of those RA set-ups and has never mentioned any issues. And he tracks heavily. Seems like the biggest hurdle, at least for the FDs...is packaging. Finding a place for the tank can be a challenge for us, but you'll probably have alot more room.

Regardless, seems like you'd also want some sort of low-level sensor on the tank too. I wonder if you couldn't use one of the sensors like they use in auxillary (meth/water) injection systems. And (like they do with AI) connect it up to a little LED light on the dash to alert you.

aftermarket OMP

I am guessing that if I have a 1 gallon reservoir and check it every time I fill up it won't be a problem. Most I have talked to say the rotary uses about 100 : 1. If that is the case I should be good on a 30 gallon gas tank. I remember that my friends 1st gen rx didn't go through crankcase oil very quickly.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

You're right they don't use much. As long as you have confidence in any one else who might take it out.
You might also consider stainless lines though.
