adjusting the clutch

hi guys, just got a new clutch installed by a guy that works out of his garage for less than half the price of a traditional shop. now that i have the car back the clutch pedal seems a little shallow, and the clutch only disengages/engages really close to the floor. i called him to ask if he could adjust where the clutch disengages cause it's too close to the floor, and he says that he can't cause it's a hydraulic clutch. i have an 88 rx7 with no mods and no turbo. i'm pretty sure there is a way to adjust where in the pedal travel the clutch disengages, but i don't know how to do it........any hints?

Now you know why he's working out of his garage for half the cost. He doesn't know what he's doing.

now that i have the car back the clutch pedal seems a little shallow, and the clutch only disengages/engages really close to the floor. i called him to ask if he could adjust where the clutch disengages cause it's too close to the floor, and he says that he can't cause it's a hydraulic clutch. i have an 88 rx7 with no mods and no turbo. i'm pretty sure there is a way to adjust where in the pedal travel the clutch disengages, but i don't know how to do it........any hints?
There is only one freeplay adjustment on the clutch pedal and I doubt that would have been touched. It sounds like he did not bench bleed the cylinders, and thus did not bleed the system out correctly.

Or something really stupid has happened like the clutch fork falling off of the pivot ball.
