Exclamation 94 rx7 idles but chokes at 3,000 rpm??

So i bought a 94 rx7 fd not too long ago and upon purchasing it i replaced the whole fuel system because we thought that was the problem with the car choking out. it did not help but the system still needed to be replaced so no harm done... so now im sitting with a rx7 that wont rev over 3000 rpms without choking out and backfiring. the turbos seem to be going out and the guy that i bought it from said the car is running non sequential. anybody have any ideas? i checked the engine and the compression is fine...

Sounds like limp mode. What are the ECU codes?

Check that the MAP sensor is plugged in. If its unplugged, the car will choke and sputter once the turbos start to spool up.

Check it out and let us know.

well i tried the map sensor and it was hooked up. we rebooted the ecu and it fired up perfectly but then whenever i shut it off and turn it back on, it seems to go back into limp mode? one of the harness on the ecu does not seem to clip in right. think that could be it? maybe the tps?
