89 S5 running lights inop

Hi my 89 fc just lost its running lights, front and rear. My brake lights, turn signals and headlights (hi/lo) and dash lights all still work. Any suggestions?

did you check any fuses yet?
try the Illumination fuse..
The fuse panel is under the dash, driver's side in the corner by the firewall.

Headlight Switch? Supposed to power the Red/Black wire which powers all the running lights including the tail lights. You can pull the plug from any of these lights w/the switch turned to on and see if the R/B wire is receiving voltage. If not then the R/B wire at the Headlight Switch likely is w/o power w/the switch turned on and if so then the switch is the culprit.

So I checked the wire for power, and there is power to the switch, so I've ordered a new switch. Wouldn't the dash lights also be inop if the switch was bad though?

The Red/Black wire at the switch is responsible for powering the running lights/tail lights. The Red/Green wire at the switch is responsible for the dash lights. As stated previously, the R/B wire should have power at the switch w/the switch turned to either position. If it doesn't then the switch is the problem. If it does then your problem lies elsewhere.

The White/Green wire is what powers the switch. W/the switch **** turned the voltage off of this W/G wire powers the R/B and R/G wires. The W/G wire is powered by the Illumination wire.
