CA 89 gxl rx7 starts then dies need help fast

well first off all ive been reading forums and googling my problem bt no luck

well anyways the car will start and then die sometimes even backfiring on start up if u press gas it stays on bt u need too hold it

ive replaced air flow meter code was coming up bad on it i have good battery and connections

the air pump isnt hooked up also

need the car running to get it smogged need it running asap please help

Check the condition of the harness connector that plugs into the AFM.

The car won't pass smog without an air pump anyway.

its pretty bad it looks like someone puttied it or something bt the pins all come out i knw the car needs the air pump for smog bt therent any codes coming up

If the connector is in bad shape, there's your problem.

Unplug fuse for ignition crank for 5 seconds once or twice, if that doesnt work, unplug spark plugs crank again to dissipate all the flooded fuel. Good to go! Good luck. My 88 gxl floods also.
