88 rx7 headlight won't turn on

hi i was trying to replace my old driver side headlight for my 88 rx7. so i replaced the old headlight because it wouldnt turn on anymore. so i replaced it with the hid headlight and with the hid kit. the light turns on but it flickers and turn off. i doubt its either the light bulb or the ballast though because i connect the wires straight to the battery already. i need help!

if anything re-wire your lights, there could be a short in your harness, relay, or somethings not grounded right.
What is the history on this car, anyone rewire anything, has anything been removed, wrecked?
what i would try and do is replace both at the same time, ive seen headlights acting like that becuase one of the ballast or wire is busted, or shorting out

Take ur lights completly off. Check the actual plugs where the light plugs into for corrosion and the wires running from them for any melted spots or corrosion. I just did this and fixed mine today

I would also check for a grounding issue.
