MT 88 rx7

So ive found an fc3s for 2000. so far i was told that there 1800000 miles on the car but the engine was rebuild at 1250000. some scratchs on the driver door, dent in the rear, few interior missing, no radio, and throw out bearing needs to be replaces soon. I am new at this and have no clue about cars at all. should i buy it, is 2000 a reasonable price? how much am i in for paying to repair this car?

I'd personally would try to bargain for even lower. Would make a decent project car.

You should go see it, start it up and see if it's a clunker or actually in decent shape to determine how much you'll be spending to get it up to par.

If it doesn't have a rebuilt engine, the value is much less. $2000 is only reasonable if the car is in perfect condition, which it's not.

A pair of replacement struts will run around $200, but you may also want to replace the rear shocks at the same time, so that'd be more like $400 (not including labor if you have someone do it). And the pilot bearing...I don't know, maybe 3 hours of labor @ the shop rate. The bearing itself is cheap. But once again, if you're having the transmission dropped, you'll likely want to replace the clutch and get the flywheel resurfaced too, so figure another $150-200 or so if you're just getting an OEM replacement.

So now ive found out that more than:
- The piece around where the radio goes is broken and the trim around the back hatch is missing. the top of the center console bin is in bad shape and so is the drivers seat.
- The interior is missing a few parts and there is no radio.
- There is a scratch on the drivers door and a small dent on the rear right quarter-panel.
- The engine was rebuilt at 125k.
- The factory wiper switch does not work, so he wired some other cars switch under the steering column and its operation is questionable, they move but at only one speed.
- And the interior dash lights only work when the brights lever is held in.

Even though i did get the price down to 1350, what do you guys think? I only have a budget of 2500, is it a good buy? I'm thinking that I'm just gonna use the rest of the money to repair it enough that that it runs. And I fixed her up later.

that comes out to 55k on a rebuild and a semi decent shape car(from what you have said about it). for 1350 its not bad as long as you dont mind giving up everything else in your life to be able to work on your 7 all day everyday just to pray to god it doesnt break tomorrow. but seriously it doesnt sound like a bad deal. got any pics?
