Question 88 convertable rx7

I have an 88 convertable and it's an automatic I'm trying to find an 88-91 tranny cause the tranny I have came out of an 87 and all the wires and plugs are different and I can figure them out. Anyone want to help?

I would say look at the wiring diagram, it should not be that big of a problem

I got the wiring diagrams but none of the plugs nore colored wires match up. According to the diagrams they do, but not phisically

The new transmission is an auto too, right? If that's the case, all of the switches on the trans will be the same. There are no wiring changes within the same series.

If the plugs and wire colors are different, then it'll be because someone changed them. You'll have to just make sure the plugs on your engine harness get matched with the appropriate switch on the transmission. Compare with your old trans, and wire them up properly.
