WI 88 13b rebuild, and no start

Hello, my name is Jeff. I purchased a 88 rx7 fc, for my son, as a first car/project.
It had no compression on rear housing. We pulled engine, and automatic trans, tore
down engine, and found rear housing/rotor damaged, due to broken apex seals.
Bought used engine, and manual trans, tore apart and rebuilt completely, using Atkins
Rotary kit. Re used housings, as appeared to be in pretty good shape, just worn seals.
Rebuilt using DVD bought from Atkins. Installed engine, and did manual trans conversion also. Engine cranks, has spark, and fuel. Seems to flood quite quickly, as
plugs are wet. Removed plugs several times, cranked over to blow out fuel, installed
fuel pump cutoff switch, as I read on these forums. Added oil to housings, and it fired
for a second, and quit. I repeated this several times, and it still does not start/run,
when I flip on fuel pump !! Have to get to fire on the oil, with starting fluid, but is seems
like the plugs are still wet from gas. Removed upper intake, and primary fuel rail,
pressurized rail, and did not see injectors leaking. Reassembled, and still have same
problem !!! I am a 25+ year mechanic, but the rotary is completely new to me !!
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated !! I feel as if I am letting my 15yr.
old son down, by not getting it running !! Please help us !

you should take the plugs out and EGI FUSE out and roll the engine over about 30 seconds.
Put some oil in the spark plug holes and roll it over about 5 seconds.
Then toss a good set of plugs in Put the EGI FUSE back in and try it.

Most newly rebuilt engines are a snot bag to start so one of the suggestions that works is to pull or push start the car.,
Myself I don't trust it as it can be unsafe but "it works".

My buddy had this same problem in his rebuilt FD rx7. Endless amounts of hours trying to start it and it would just flood. The compression is probably a bit low from the rebuild and the easiest way to get it to start is to pull it with a truck and use first gear to spin the motor. Started right up with no issues and after it warms up your compression will come back after it "seals up" in the rotor housings. Lmk if this works for you.
