Since it is a Dorito engine,SALSA is the choice of Champions!...(I had to Man!..Taco very much!)
YES,87 octane is about the best you can use...anything higher on an N/A is a waste of money,..and we all know what that means...NO extra money for PARTS!

The engine is rated for a minimum of 87 octane using the (R+M)/2 method. This information is in the Owner's Manual.
If the engine is worn, has deposits, or is otherwise out of tune, then 87 may cause knocking. If the engine is not running well on 87, then try a different gas station or move up to a higher octane fuel until you can get it fixed.
