TX 86 rx7 non turbo problems

Hey whats up guys. I am an 86 NA rx7 with a few problems and was wondering what you guys had to say about it. First off, When I go out to start the car up for the first time for the day its kinda hard for it to actually start. It takes a good 30 secs for it to finally get going. When it does finally get started, it takes it alittle bit for it to actually stay idle by itself, after about 30 more secs of me holding the gas alittle it finally does by itself, that usually happens when its cold. Well today I went out there to start it up and it fired up alittle quicker but it idled kinda low by itself, kinda backfired also but after about 30 secs it will smooth itself out. I've also got a new fuel filter and fuel pump coming. Also, it keeps shooting coolant over to the overflow tank, which in turn will make it leak coolant after alittle bit. It does not run hot by the way. I've got a thermostat on the way but I'd still like others opinions just to be sure ya know. I've read on here that if you start the car while the radiator cap is off and if the coolant is not gushing out then its not the O-Ring. Well I hope you guys can help me out, thanks in advance.

Check for air bubbles in the coolant. If you get air bubbles after you bleed all of them out you have a bad coolant seal.

heh aight man. I'm probably going to flush the radiator and **** tomorrow if I get the chance. By on a side note, the damn air bleeder screw is striped which sucks. I'll figure something out.

i wouldn't flush it, you will have a harder time trying to figure out if its an air bubble or not.

Top off the fluid and get all the out so there is no bubbles. Let the car sit for a bit (say 20 mins) and start it back up. If there are bubbles in the coolant again then you have problems.

Check the hose leading to the overflow container for pinhole leaks. Or just replace it. Replace the pressure cap.

The long cranking could be caused by several reasons. When is the last time the car had a full tuneup? Has it been compression checked? Injectors cleaned?

Long cranking can mean low compression.

I'm not exactly sure when the car had a full tune up. I've replaced the spark plugs, wires, oil change, thermostat. I have a fuel pump and fuel filter I'm putting on today. I also have a water pump, two new radiator hoses, air bleeder plug (sense old one is stripped), as well as the radiator overflow tube neck on the way. I should be cleaning the injectors soon also. I don't think it has been compression check, I might look into that soon enough though.
The guy before me obviously didn't take to much care of the car. Makes me want to slap him, but anyway you get what you pay for right... hehe
