86 FC3S N/A - wont start

Hello all,

Im new to rx7club and just secured a fairly clean 86 FC3S 5sp N/A, but need to get her running again. The seller said that it ran when he got it but upon arriving home, it wouldnt start again. He suspects that the CAS is dead and i have send a replacement to see if that gets her running again. Compression was 80+ on all faces, so thats a good sign. Im looking for anything else i should look at for why she won't run.

Im a bit far away from the car (can't pick it up til i pay it off ) but the seller is willing to spend a lil time seeing if he can't get it started. Some help and advice would be most appreciated

Have you tried deflooding?

I did a compression check, twice, came up w/ 80-90 psi on all rotor faces (FSM says 85 minimum, my TII runs on 50-60 psi). It doesn't run at the moment because the CAS (crank angle sensor) is bad and I haven't went and got one to replace it. We got it in at the junkyard not running, and we've got it running several times, then it won't run again. Probably partially due to the bad CAS, partially due to whatever is causing the smoke.

Its a bit hard to do this via proxy lol, im just hoping to get some info and direction.

I hope you were looking for a fixer-upper, I have no faith in the seller putting any work into the car..........my bet is he doesn't want to dump cash into a car that's already sold
