SC 85 Rx7 12a Carb Not Starting

Just bought an 85 Rx7, the previous owner has had the car since 2005, she let it sit due to her son having a baby, a year later they tried to start it and it wouldnt start. It will crank over just not fire up. She took it to a Meineke to have them do the mechanic stuff to try and get her fired up (tire/lube stop). Once they spent $3200 replacing the hoses/distributor cap/carb etc. they decided to sell it. So i bought it and starting doing some tests (0 knowledge of rotary motors). We tested that there was no spark, the spark plugs were pretty wet, and there was no power getting to the fuel pump, so i bought 2 igniters from a shop near me for $150 and he assured me that both worked, but unfortunately he ripped me off because only 1 worked. So i bought one off of ebay, a non name brand one. Installed them and the car will now get spark on t1 and t2 but not on l1 and l2 (top 2 on motor gets spark, bottom 2 on motor do not). I thought i was getting fuel, but i do not hear my pump priming but when i pull the fuel hardline on the motor fuel come out. Im not sure what could be the problem hence why im posting here for some help. Anyone have a solution?

as far as i know the ignitors run the trailing and leading. swap the ignitior you know is working with the other, and start the car, it wont run awesome but it will run on just he leadings. ignitors can be had for nearly nothing i cant believe someone ripped you for 150. i have a box of them at the house

as far as fuel goes.... there should be a fuse for it, and it only runs while the key is in start. so....you wont be able to hear it running without starting the car.

ok so i swap the one on the side with the one on the back and then keep the T plug wire running to the front coil, the L plug wire running to the back coil, and T1 wire goes to the front top spark plug, l1 goes to bottom front plig, t2 is back top, l2 is bottom back? Just checking because when we got the car the t1 was going to an L plug

yeah you got the orientation down right.

maybe your leading coil is bad.. also i myself would use stock ignitors.... they can be had for cheap... most of the time

i have no idea what that is but i suspect the coil or ignitor issue.

at this point im going to just try to find someone here local that can come check it out, we think the compression of the engine is good, but not 100% since the dealership is the only way to find out. So if anyone here locally is wanting to help out please let me know.

a forum member makes his own compression testers. (twistedRotors) last i heard they were floating around being rented for a small fee. hes a good friend of mine but i have yet to buy one since i always have access. lol

i would attempt to get a good spark and fuel going and it has o compression that will be obvious.

if in a bind use a piston compression tester its not as accurate but will let you know if its dead or not. or just remove the spark plugs and spin it over you should hear 3 swooshes. GL

we are getting spark now through all plugs, but it is still not wanting to start, so we are gunna do the ATF in bottom plug holes to try and dry it up, if that doesnt work we are going to throw some down the carb and let it sit, and if not that then i will be selling an 85 Rx7

now that u have spark, and assuming there's good compression and gas in the carb, there's no reason it shouldn't start. unless there's some huge vac leak somewhere. too bad ur so far away.

if it coughing up white smoke and spinning over its flooded probably from tryign to start it without good spark.

if you dont mind me asking what was the issue withthe ignition?

spin it over with the plugs removed and it will blow it all out.
