85 gsl-se crank NO start.

Bought an 85 gsl-se that has been sitting since '05, done the basic changes that i thought would be the problem of it not starting. I already purged the fuel system, new walbro fuel pump, new fuel filter, emptied tank and put brand new fuel in, new ngk 4-prong sparkplugs, msd coils, new wires, new battery. Had the car checked and have good compression, have spark, fuel makes it to the injectors, checked all modules and changed possible fuses. Looking for physical help or advice please. Body and interior is really clean and worth the project. Future plans; bridgeport, webber carb, and full exhaust. Looking for other recommendations on which ways to go about the project.

Is fuel actually getting to the chambers though? After sitting a few years, injectors will totally clog up. Have them professionally serviced and checked.

Keep in mind that is a 6 port engine. Bridgeporting it and tossing on a carb will result in an engine that really only makes power above 6000 RPM, is horrible to drive, gets poor mileage, and will be insanely loud.

You'll go through the same amount of work to fit a reasonably sized turbocharger with a standalone EMS, and put down 300HP all day while maintaining drivability better than that old stock ECU can hope of.

Does fuel vapour come out the exhaust when you crank it over? Like AaronCake says, might be blocked injectors. Also check you have the fuel supply and return lines the correct way round. Mine were the wrong way around a couple of days ago - had good fuel pressure at the supply line at the rail, but wasn't pressurising the actual fuel rail.

My '81 GSL was stored like that and in addition to replacing most of the fuel system, I had to dump some oil down the carb and swap plugs to get it to finally fire. Check the de-flooding instructions on this forum, it may help.
