CA 84GSL-SE electrical problems

I just got me a 1984. GSL-SE. Its been sitting for 10 yrs plus. I have no power to my windows, stock stereo, my interior lights don't work, signal lights won't work, and I don't even know if the fuel pump is working. Is there any place that I don't know where there is fuses. Would really appreciate the help. Thanks for reading.

welcome to the board.

first order of business: Foxed.ca get a copy of the FSM

the fuse box in down in the driver's footwell. you can't miss it.

i know your post didn't mention starting (or attempts at starting) but, there are things you should be doing before trying to start a car that has been sitting so long, so just keep that in mind before you try.

I've checked the fuses and they al seem good. I've checked the oil and water and everything is good. The engine did run but only with startting fluid. Not sure on what else to check. Thanks for the reply. Diabolical 1

You might have to check the whole wiring harness, probably the rats worked on it.

I've been going through most of the wires and all of them seem to intact. The only thing I can think of is go through all the connectors and check them for rust. Thanks

If the engine runs on starting fluid it is a fuel delivery problem,as this tells you that the Spark is working and of course that it is getting air.
The fuel system should be checked into more thoroughly.I would suspect the pump and clean the tank of any debris, fuel filter, lines etc.

Is it normal for the fuel pump to only get power when I crank the engine? I'm stuck on this one.

No, the fuel pump should be running when you switch on the ignition.

There is a connector that connects the engine wiring harness to the rest of the car. It is just beside the brake booster. Check that connection, It gave me tons of problems as well.

unless you plan to go for BIG power, there's no point in going too crazy with the pump in terms of output. research and find something that is RELIABLE.

Hey waz fellas. I know i havent been on here in a while but i ran into some financial problems and was close to selling my baby. Now im a lil more stable. And ive been working on the car for about 3 weeks now and i can only get it to start with only starting fluid. It tried to start a couple of time by it self and my stock stereo turned on also. and then nothing again. Here is a list of things ive done to the car.
New fuel pump and filter
Clean and tested the injectors
New ooptima battery and top post batt cable (cause the old one was getting hot)
Cleaned out the gas tank
New ngk spark plug and ngk wires
Oil change with with filter
I even tried both methods of unfludding it
Is there something that i am missing? Any ideas would be very greatfully appreciated.

To be honest i havent checked the timing. Ill get to that this weekend. Ive checked the lines and they seem correct. Fuel rail also. If i blow on the fuel rail on either end is it sopost to feel cloged or flow freely? And what i ment waz that the car sputtered a couple of time and thats when the stereo turnef on. Do you think i need to run more gound?
