83 started putterimg
Me and my fiance were driving to a car meet and we got to a stop light in our 83 rx7 gsl and we started going and it was puttering alot, it had power and was driving normally but just puttering. Me and him are new with rotarys so we dont km now whag it could be.
Update: i turned it on this morning to see if it was a blown apex doesnt seem to be. But when i unplug 2 ignition wires from the distributor cap it doesnt die like it does with the other ones. Which i know is not normal, what could that be, the cap, wires, or spark plugs?

get a shop manual. Haynes has a good one, but the factory manual is great resource to have. i will have to try to find one of the other links because the Foxed.ca site is down at the moment. at any rate, your first priority is getting a manual.
next should be performing a complete tuneup, so you know what you have is fresh and presumably optimal. you're going to want a fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires and air filter. it doesn't hurt to add another fuel filter near the carb, but that can be a side project for another time. with all of that done, you will want to also change your fluids (oil, antifreeze, brakes). start a log so you can record dates and mileage - whether digital or pen and paper.
to check spark, you can pull each plug individually and ground it on the shock tower (near one of the studs for the gap), then crank the engine to see if it fires. for coils, you can just check them by pulling the wire off and setting it near the coil tower for gap.
